Great thermometer
I’ve been using the Taylor Digital Waterproof Thermometer for a few weeks now and it’s quickly become one of my favorite kitchen tools. The blue backlit display is bright and easy to read, even when I’m grilling at night. It gives fast and accurate readings every time, and I love that it’s waterproof—cleaning it is a breeze. The protective cover is a nice bonus since it extends the handle and has helpful food temp guidelines printed right on it. Feels durable and well-made. I’ve used it for everything from steaks to chicken to baked goods, and it hasn’t let me down. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a dependable, no-fuss thermometer!

Good thermometer! 🌡️
Our old one by this same brand called it quits after many years of service so I tried this one. I’m not at all disappointed! The cover fits tightly and the buttons are intuitive. Feels sturdy and very functional. I’d buy another one.

Decent
Its a little slow to give you a reading. The waterproof part is on point. It is definitely accurate. It is a litte bulky they could do more to try to slim it down a touch compared to some of its similarly priced competitors. Its not breaking the bank though its reliable and its NSF so for me its a win but I might give a different variety another shot should this fall out of my pocket cuz its rather large and the clip I’ve found isnt the best and its just a little bit too big to fit into your pen pocket of your chef coat while too long to fit into the chest one. So its a toss up here. I am not sure the brand to suggest but it might be worth a shot to test another one where the review is 5 stars cause this one functions decent isnt expensive lasts but is bulky and tough to carry on your person easily.

Good price – quality constructions – Good to use as a pulp thermometer
The build is sturdy, the snap cap for the probe is nice. The cap can be attached to the end of the probe to make the handle longer. It snaps in place to keep a firm grip. The plastic shell is thick – but not overly so. Seems to be a well built device. There is a hold function so you can read the temperature then hold the display so others who may want to see the reading can see it as well. Not sure if it can be calibrated – however if you put it in ice and you read 70 degrees F – then you should probably return it. The readings seem to take about 30 sec or so to stabilize from say – 90 degrees F air temp to get a good read of ~ 40F. Mainly due to the the outer shell of the unit cooling down as well as the electronics.I would be careful when stabbing it into the rhine of a watermelon or cantaloupe. You may damage the probe – best to poke it in slowly. Likewise if you stab a zombie in the eye with an overhand blow – the probe may be damaged or break from its foundation -which could result in your demise. I would not recommend an underhand thrust to stab into the gelatinous goo of a toxic slime monster. The stress placed on the epoxy mount of the probe may cause it to fail. As a last resort – you may find this thermometer useful to flatten the tires of a rampaging horde of wasteland cannibals – provided they are driving. I suggest stabbing the sidewall of the tires – which is the weakest point. However you choose to employ this little gem – I am sure you will be able to read both C and F temperature accurately and quickly.

Basic but Very Useful
Pretty good meat thermometer. It’s a little slow to get the accurate reading, but that’s the only downside. I feel it’s pretty accurate (compared it to a non-digital one I have that’s even slower). Easy to clean and the slotted cap means if it’s not completely dry when you cap it, that’s ok. Super easy to use, just turn it one and insert into food. Plenty long enough for a variety of foods, including a whole bird in the oven. Display is also just as easy to read, no question as to what the number is.

accurate and reliable
I bought my first Taylor Instant Read Thermometer about 15 years ago. For all those years, it gave me consistently accurate readings within seconds. The battery was easy to replace. The small size and bright color meant it was always available (not stored away somewhere) and always easy to spot on a busy counter. When it finally gave me its last reading, I replaced it without a second thought. I look forward to the same long life and excellent performance that I have grown accustomed to.

Received today and very happy. So far seems accurate. Tip: Don’t be like me and throw out a perfectly good thermometer without first checking the battery. For years I had the non-waterproof thermometer of same brand, and loved it. After over 5 years I noticed it wasn’t as accurate so I threw it out. I now realize that perhaps the battery just needed changing, since it had not been changed in years after a lot of use…).12/05/14 update:- This thermometer is still going strong, as expected. Thankfully not cheaply made like the ones you find in the grocery store. No issues to report.
