I’ve used standard digital kitchen scales for years, but I always found the process of looking up macros on my phone while cooking to be a total chore. I decided to try this Tofitter Smart Scale, and so far, it’s a game changer for my meal prep.Right out of the box, it looks sleek. The brushed metal finish doesn’t just look premium on the counter; it’s actually really easy to wipe down, which is a big deal when you’re dealing with raw chicken or flour. The display is bright and clear I don’t have to squint to see the numbers even if I have a large bowl sitting on top of it.The Bluetooth sync was surprisingly fast. I’m usually skeptical of free apps but this one actually connects instantly and tracks a massive amount of data it says 20 nutrients. One of my favorite things is that you don’t actually need the phone for basic info. The dual display on the scale itself gives you a quick snapshot of the calories and macros, which is perfect when I’m in a rush and don’t want to dig my phone out of my pocket.I tested it against my old dumb scale and the weights were identical down to the gram. Seeing the nutritional breakdown directly on the scale is the best feature. The build quality feels sturdy, not like cheap plastic. The tare is responsive and quick, making it easy to add multiple ingredients to one bowl.Something to note tho is the surface is a bit of a fingerprint magnet standard for stainless steel/glass and it takes a minute to get used to navigating the food database in the app, but it’s pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it.If you’re just weighing mail, this is overkill. But if you’re actually tracking macros for weight loss or fitness goals, this saves so much time. It makes the tracking part of dieting feel like less of a second job. Definitely worth the $70 if you’re serious about your New Year’s goals

This is a very nice set of kitchen scales with smart features which I have to say I can’t see myself making a lot of use of.The scales go up to 5kg which is a good weight and more than enough for kitchen use. There is a “tare” button to zero the scales with your empty container on which is useful but a pretty standard feature. The scales look great and the main weight display is clear. The lb/oz display shows Pounds:Oz with a decimal place for the oz. Maybe it’s just me but it took a minute to work that out but pretty obvious once the penny drops. The smart features use the smaller LCD screen which looks great. The scales have up to 50 food types (different meats and fruits etc) built in and will display the nutritional content of the item based on its weight (calories, fat, carbs, protein). With the App you can customise the stored food types and track your daily intake by adding up the various foods. However, it seems to me you would have to be a fairly avid food watcher to weigh all your food throughout the day, even with the app to add it all up for you. Maybe I’m missing something but this feels like a feature that has been added because they can rather than because it’s any practical use.Unfortunately, this is a very nice set of scales but with a largely pointless “smart” feature that bumps up the cost for no reason.

The steel platform is a decent size for meal prep and wipes down easily after use. The dual display setup is actually very useful. One screen gives you the weight in grams or millilitres, while the second screen shows calories, protein, and carbs for preset foods. It includes 50 built in food options that work offline, so you dont always need your phone just to see the data. The Bluetooth syncs with the Fitday+ app to track 23 different nutrients and push that data to Apple Health or Fitbit. It is a quick way to log meals without manual typing, and the tare function is responsive enough for building complex recipes in one bowl and I experienced no floating. At only 17mm thick, it slides into a drawer easily when you’re done. The biggest catch is the barcode scanner in the app only works with the U.S. food database, which makes it pretty useless for scanning Australian grocery items. You’ll end up having to manually enter local nutritional info or edit the presets to match what’s in our shops. The TFT screen is also a bit small, so it can be hard to read if you have a large plate covering half the scale. All in all though, its a handy tool for calorie counting, provided you don’t mind the extra setup time for local foods.3.5/5 rounded up.

I’ve been trying out this nutrition scale, and it’s actually a really handy little gadget if you’re into tracking your food or just want a clearer picture of what you’re eating. It can track up to 20 nutrients, and the layout makes everything pretty simple to follow. You can set goals, log activity, and sync it with Fitday+, plus it connects with Fitbit, Apple Health and Samsung Health, which is great if you already use those. The dual display is genuinely useful. the LED shows your usual weights grams, ml, oz, lbs, and the screen gives you the nutrition breakdown for preset foods like calories, protein, carbs and fat.Switching units is quick too, which makes cooking and baking a bit smoother. One thing worth mentioning is the listing says the QR code and app are only for the U.S. food database, but that wasn’t my experience at all. I scanned the QR code and it took me straight to the app store, downloaded without any issues, and the app works perfectly fine. So that part of the description is a bit misleading. The scale itself is easy to use. It has 50 built‑in food options you can access offline, which is great when you don’t want to rely on the app. You can edit or update those presets later to match your own recipes. The stainless steel platform wipes clean easily, the tare function works well for when you are using a bowl or plate you can just press the tare section on the scales and it zero’s it so the plate is not in the weight. It’s compact enough to store without taking up loads of space. It even comes with the batteries, all you need to do is pull the tab out of the back of it and then it turns on.I think this scale is amazing quality, great value for money and super functional and I will use this a lot, especially when I make home made soup that way I can get the macros from my soups and add to my diet plan, before getting this scale I had no idea of the calories or anything in my soups.
