No assembly necessary but did take note that it does not sit flat on countertop, but is okay once loaded with a half dozen mugs. Take note of the measurements which may appear as the length really being the height….I had hoped to use it IN the cupboard but realized in our older home neither of the models I was looking at would fit the height of the shelving. And the base was about 6″…luckily it worked out where I could put it. Will serve the purpose (to make space in the cupboard) and blends in well with the silvery trim of stainless steel appliances and straw holder.

Very well-made and sturdy. It holds my large mugs without a problem of it tipping over. I would recommend this mug rack. It looks very nice in my kitchen.
