Very handy when an instant read temperature is preferred
Very handy for the kitchen. You get a fast temperature reading to determine when your food is thoroughly cooked. Great to use for baking as well. It is easy to use, pulling out the wand turns the thermometer on. Temperature can be set for F or C temperature reading. The display is large and easily seen. It has a temperature hold function enabling you to insert the probe to get a temperature, hold it, then remove the probe before viewing the temperature. It comes with a small screwdriver in order to open the battery compartment to change the battery. The only drawback is that it is not rechargeable.

Easy to use, easy to read, accurate temperature!
This thermometer is so much better than my glass/mercury one! Couldn’t understand why my caramel kept turning out too hard when I used my old thermometer to measure the exact temp. Turns out it was way off! Using this new digital thermometer, my caramel was cooked to the correct temp and was perfectly soft and chewy! I’m getting another one to give to my son!

Great meat thermometer
I got this thermometer to check the temperature of my meat, since I like it rare. This thermometer is nice with the ability to read the display based on how I am holding it. it uses a standard battery, which is helpful for me who stocks normal batteries and makes the value even better. I tested this thermometer with 3 steaks and it works exceptionally well. This thermometer is easy to read and made cooking my chicken, steak, and fish is easier – but more importantly makes me feel safe about the food I am consuming.

Got this through the Vine. These type of thermometer are game changers. They are so instant, you can get fast and accurate temp readings each time. It’s a fast-reading, instant-read thermometer with half a degree accuracy, making it ideal for grilling, smoking, or general cooking. The device has a rotating backlit LCD display, so you can easily see the temperature from different angles. It’s IP67 water-resistant, meaning it’s splash/dust resistant, and it uses a single AAA battery with an auto-off function to save power. The thermometer is good looking and has a sleek and functional design. Well priced for how well made it is and makes a good gift for anyone that cooks.

As a seasoned cook of many years, having an accurate and easy to use thermometer has always been a must, not just when grilling meat, mind you. As you can imagine, I have many cooking thermometers accumulated over time, from those ancient, round “dial-like” probes that are soooo slow settling on a temperature reading, to the more modern digital ones that are a bit faster to display the reading.This Chiknow, state of the art thermometer, is a real treat to use in any cooking situation.It has a very large, bright display that is very easy to read, a must when you’re sticking your hand in a very hot oven or grill. It claims an accuracy of half a degree, which is impressive if you really need that kind of precision.But what really impressed me the most is the speed with which in can tell you the temperature reading. I did a little experiment to test this. I partially defrosted in the microwave a soup for lunch that had been completely frozen. Stopping just short of the recommended time for completely defrosting, I took the bowl out of the microwave and stuck the thermometer in a liquid part of the soup and the probe read a temperature close to 90 degrees. I quickly moved the probe to the center of the bowl of soup, which was still partly frozen, and the thermometer settled on the new reading in less than 3 secs, showing the temperature there was still close to freezing.I was amazed. I loved it. I recommend it if you want one of the best kitchen thermometers available.

Good Size and Easy to Read
UPDATE:Shortly after this review was posted, the information on the product page was corrected and it no longer says that the thermometer has an integrated bottle opener. It’s good to know that the company does pay attention to what its customers are saying!—————————————————————This CHIKNOW thermometer is easy to handle due to its substantial size which allows it to have a large display screen as well. The display is quite bright, so the temperature can be easily read from any angle. The thermometer reads the temperature fairly quickly and accurately. It does seem to have a little trouble reading if you are trying to measure something that is in the process of heating up, such as oil or custard.The product description says that the thermometer is waterproof; however, the battery compartment, which is held by a screw, does not seem perfectly sealed to prevent liquid from seeping in in case it accidently falls into a pot of liquid. The product page also mentions that it has an “integrated bottle opener”; I can’t figure out which part of the thermometer doubles as a bottle opener.
